Embroidered flowers and leafy vines decorate the bottom third of this adorable flapper era coat while three flower heads adorn the cap. The lining could very well be Liberty of London but an expert may know for sure. Pleated pink (silk?) chiffon is used to trim the underside of the rim of the cap which is also lined in the same Liberty of London (?) floral print fabric to match the coat.
Three fabric loops close around three round black buttons to secure the coat. Not made for cold winters, these are the only closures. The coat is a light/medium weight silk, perfect for a cool spring or fall day.
If you dress your children in vintage, or just want a very special piece for a family photo or event, this is it!
Condition is excellent with some slight lighter spotty areas on the front upper bodice, does not take anything away from this beauty though...but, it isn't perfect so zoom around the photos and ask questions before ordering. I have not attempted to clean the coat or cap. If your child has allergies or sensitivity to dust or anything of that nature, I do not have information on where or what type of environment or methods were used for storage. There could be dust build up in the fibers.
Measurements:
Chest 36' (18' laying flat from pit to pit, which seems adult sizing, but it is a child's coat)
shoulders 9' (dolman sleeves so no shoulder seams)
Sleeve Length 14'
Coat Length 24'
Fit - there's plenty of room in the chest and throughout the body of the coat. It is small around the shoulders and sleeves.
The cap measures approximately 19' around the interior near the rim.
